CUT THE NOISE
Did the price actually move a certain distance? That's the only question that matters.
An ancient Japanese saying goes that the first step to perfection is cutting out the noise and focusing on what actually matters. That's exactly what Renko charts do. They totally ignore time and only care about one thing: did the price actually move a certain distance? By ditching the clock, they filter out all the chaotic guesswork and leave you with a clean, easy-to-read chart that shows pure price action.
THE MIRROR MOVE
After a big push, the price mirrors it back — most of the time.
It all starts with a relatively big and continuous push on the price. We are looking for a Mirror Move which happens after these big pushes — the price will reverse eventually and mirror the previous push to the opposite way. Important to know: the price doesn't always mirror the full push, but only around 70% of it. That's still perfectly fine.
RIDE THE TREND
Same setup, same direction — again and again, as long as the trend holds.
There's still a likely possibility to lose trades even when we are confident of the overall direction. This does not mean we have to 'derail' from our plan and entry criteria. It is natural to lose trades in this business. Market creating HHs and HLs, so we're watching for the next high-probability setup to go long.
KNOW YOUR SESSIONS
Not every session trades the same — and you don't need to guess which one you're in.
Asia is slow but can produce such nice and clear pushes that it is a real gem for trailing positions. The London open is very volatile and fast, so we need to account for slippage. The beginning of the NY session is usually good too. The good news? You don't need to track any of that closely.
